The Columbus Team is dedicated to supporting our communities because we believe in giving back to the neighborhoods we work in. One of the biggest ways we do this is by paying it forward through our extensive charity work. Each of us is very proud of the work we do with local organizations.
Here are a few of the wonderful nonprofits we support around Columbus.
Nationwide Children’s
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is committed to providing the highest quality care to all children and their families, regardless of ability to pay. In 2019, Nationwide Children’s Hospital had more than 1.6 million patient visits from 49 states and 54 countries and provided more than $194 million in charity care and community benefit services annually.
We encourage all parents to follow Nationwide Children’s on social media as their posts are very helpful.
With each closed transaction we make a donation to the hospital in our client’s name, so when you buy or sell with us you will be helping kids like EmmeClaire.
The Clintonville Community Resource Center
The CRC is a great community-based organization in Clintonville/Beechwold. They provide a number of services to people in the community including a food pantry, childcare services, senior supportive services, and youth outreach. The Columbus Team is proud to provide donations and work with the CRC to give back to the community several of us live in.
The Furniture Bank
The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio provides furniture and helps people affected by homelessness, mental illness, and lack of sufficient employment. Their goal is to transform empty houses into homes. Each year they have a big fundraiser called The Bed Race. A member of our team, Sue Lusk-Gleich is a board member, and she works tirelessly to help support the Furniture Bank and their mission.
Hope Hollow
Hope Hollow provides a unique service to people who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. This organization provides, lodging, meals, and transportation to those traveling to Columbus looking for cancer treatment. Our team has been longtime supporters of this wonderful nonprofit. We are partners in Hope Hollow and support them through donations and by participating in their annual charity events.
Special Olympics
Special Olympics is an exceptional organization that The Columbus Team has been involved with for many years. They provide an inclusive environment where people with intellectual disabilities can participate in sports and leadership programs. Sue Lusk-Gleich has been a Special Olympics coach for decades. She says, the joy of working with Special Olympics athletes is incomparable.
Local Schools
Education and supporting local schools is always a priority to us and the families we serve. Over the years, different members of our team have been involved in many different ways. Sue Lusk-Gleich and Erin Ogden-Oxender have helped coach the elementary school volleyball teams at Immaculate Conception in Clintonville. Heather Gott is involved in the Parent-Teacher Organization at her son’s school. Patrick Florence helps the Worthington School Athletics Program on behalf of his kids. These are just a few examples of the way different members of our team are dedicated to supporting local schools..
Pelotonia Bike Races
Patrick Florence has been a rider and a fundraiser for Pelotonia for many years. This is an annual bike ride that raises money for cancer research at The James Comprehensive Cancer Center at Ohio State. Patrick’s group, Love Out Loud, ride each year in honor of their friend and educator, Chris Collaros. Since Pelotonia was started, they have raised over $211 million.
