Education in Delaware
The Delaware City Schools offer a full curriculum for K-12, and includes the School Age Child Care program (SACC) offering child care before and after school at the elementary and middle schools. Secondary school opportunities include Ohio Wesleyan University and Methodist Theological School in Ohio.
Delaware Amenities
Sports are also important to Delaware residents. The Little Brown Jug, part of the Triple Crown of harness racing is run here on the county fairgrounds. There are many bike trails and swimming pools. Golf is important to Delaware, with its many public and private courses. The Memorial Tournament is an annual event held at the Muirfield Village Golf Club just minutes away in Dublin.
Delaware offers many other attractions, such as the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Wyandot Lake, Perkins Observatory, and the Olentangy Indian Caverns.
The cultural arts are well-represented by the Delaware County Cultural Arts Center the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra, the Delaware Community Chorus, Silver Phoenix Theatre Company and the Strand Theatre, along with the offerings of Ohio Wesleyan University.
A variety of churches of many denominations are spread throughout Delaware.
History can be seen downtown and throughout the area in the carefully preserved homes, and in the character and charm of the bustling downtown area.
